Structural audit of the building in simple terms means Health Check-up of the building structure. This is a thorough inspection of the building structure wherein the RCC main frame members are evaluated for strength and durability parameters along with the other parameters such as plumbing, external plaster, terrace, lifts, etc. the structural audit is mandatory for all buildings more than 15 years of age as per the MCGM and Model Society Bye Law No 77. The frequency is every 5 years for buildings older than 15 years up to 30 years and every 3 years after the building becomes more than 30 years old.

Based on the above data, the report is prepared which consists of probable causes of distress, areas with critical structural distress, condition of terrace waterproofing, plumbing lines, external façade, water tanks and common areas. The corrective measures are also recommended along with the methodologies and specifications.
